❓ FAQ – Matchy Party

What is Matchy Party?

Matchy Party is a web-based messaging app that allows people at the same real-world event to chat anonymously with each other in real time. It’s designed for fun, temporary social interaction in venues like bars, parties, or networking events.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. Matchy Party assigns you a random number or name visible on your badge or label at the event. That number is used to identify you during the session without linking to your real identity.

Is Matchy Party anonymous?

Yes, anonymity is a core feature. You can optionally share information (like a name or short bio), but this is completely up to you and is not required to use the app.

How long are messages stored?

All messages and data are stored temporarily. We usually delete everything within 24 hours after the event ends. We don’t build user profiles or keep chat histories long-term.

Can people outside the event see my messages?

No. The chat system is designed to work only for attendees of a specific event. Your messages are only visible to others at the same session.

Is my data secure?

We take reasonable steps to secure the app, but no system is 100% secure. Optional personal info is stored in plain text and could be seen by others at the event. Please don’t share anything sensitive.

What happens if someone behaves badly?

If someone is being inappropriate or abusive, you can report it to the event organizer. We reserve the right to suspend access for users who violate our community rules or terms of use.

Can I block someone?

At this time, Matchy Party doesn’t support direct blocking. However, messages from abusive users can be flagged to moderators or organizers depending on the event setup.

Is it free to use?

Yes, Matchy Party is free for event attendees. Some features may be reserved for hosts or premium events.
